The program is dedicated to providing energy security, which means consistent, reliable and affordable access to essential energy services, heating, cooling and lighting—without sacrificing other necessities.
This commitment is carried out through a range of self-sufficiency services: Clearinghouse Self-Sufficiency, Digital Self-Sufficiency and Complex Care Self-Sufficiency. Each service is designed not only to address energy needs, but also to help households overcome barriers to long-term energy security and household sustainability.
Clearinghouse Self-Sufficiency
Everyone who receives an assist from emPower at TrueNorth will receive resources tailored to their specific household needs.
Digital Self-Sufficiency
Households interested in having an emPower Advisor walk alongside them long-term for support in reaching their goals. Advisors will work with households via technology, email, text and virtual meeting platforms throughout the state of Michigan.
Complex Care Self-Sufficiency
Households interested in having an emPower Advisor walk alongside them long-term for support toward reaching their goals. Complex Care offers these services in-home or in community meeting households where they are.
Complex Care is available in Ionia, Kent, Lake, Mason, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana and Ottawa counties.
